First field Trip

Transport:

Well, today we went on a field trip to this place were people that are mentally challenged go for. In Spain no one gets special treatment so the mentally challenged people get their own school. But they don't learn Social Studies, Math, and stuff like that. They learn the main things you need to know in life. Like, how to buy stuff at the store, a trade like pottery or carving, and things like that. Now these people don't have the normal challenges you see in a school these people have much, much harder problems. Some can't speak or go to the bathroom, and for othersit is hard to walk. So today we left the school with our "bocadillos" and started WALKING to the place. They had a bus but we, a group of 23 kidswalked out on the street for at least 115 minutes with the teacher constructing traffic when needed until we got to our destination.

Pottery:

Everyone could choose pottery or carving, I choose pottery, and next year everyone will switch. Once in the pottery room we got to go and roam for a little while. Then the people who owned the place made

different groups.

I sat down next to a man who was working on something that looked like the picture up above (if it showed up) but the back ground color was yellow. He was really nice and he liked having me ooh and ahh over his work. I feel bad that I could not say more, but my spanish has gotten better!He kind of quieted out when he learnt that I did not speak spanishto well. But then after a while he talked ot me some more 'cause I guess he is used to it, after all half the people in that place could noet spek at

all!

Close to the end they let u choose a little bowl like the one you see up above, but with different designs, colors, well, you get the picture.At first I got a really ugly one. But then I snuck back and got the one I wanted, the on in the picture!!!

But I do wonder what carving will be like next year.
