I am now going to a small (60 kids, but only about 50 come) English private Christian school. Wow! That is mouth full! Yes, The Ark, the one I posted about a while ago. I wish I could explain all of my teachers and classmates, but these speak English and if they read what I put... I am doing pretty well there, but for a Christian school some of the children are rather lost, but the Lord has my work cut out for me. =)
My family, as always, is still into games and try to play them a lot, but homework, books and social calendars are getting in the way. I am going to a Bible study of Spanish speaking girls (None of them are Spanish, we have a Brazilian, a Haitian, some from Peru, another from Columbia... but no Spaniards) I really connect there with these girls. Then I am in my church youth group, small as it is the Holy Spirit moves among us in astounding ways.
Lexy and Bella are having friend issues in school, now that their best friend, Josh, has left them rather lonely. Please, pray for a good Christian friend to find his/her way into their live, the kids of today here do not know how to be a good friend nor haw to handle one when he/she comes along.
I am HEAD OVER HEELS in love with words. I love writing and reading, takes up more time than my family (you can now see how bad my addiction has become. =-/) If you want to read anything that I have written please say so in a comment so that I can give you the link. I also am enjoying American football, believe it or not.
Music, of course, holds a special place in my heart. God began revealing himself to me through music when I was here, singing worship in Spanish. I have found that I pray and sing more comfortably for my Master in Spanish, as weird as that is. I am wanting piano and guitar lessons, and craving to start piano up again. If only I could find a good flamenco teacher ( I want to learn dancing and singing parts! :P).
Praise the Lord for his helping hand. I have been exposed to many things that are just heart shredding; over this past year especially. My amazing God has lent me his hand, carried me, protected me, taken my burden that is too hard for anyone of my age to carry and taught me through these situations. It is comforting to know that I have a Father to fall back on, but devastating even to dream that people have nothing but their own pride, relationships, looks, expectations, etc. to support them selves. But, how many times have these things not crumbled, going up in flames and turning into nothing but ashes? How many times has Adonai picked me up, and let me cry on his shoulder, when others had nothing to turn to? God is so good to a sinner like me! Should I not go and give my every thing?
My calling is becoming even more clear. I think that it will be in Africa, possibly with temple prostitutes and orphans. But there is so much suffering in this world that I have NO idea where to go, but Jehovah will lead me there, so far I think that 'there' is Africa. For now God has placed several younger sisters in Christ for me to mentor, help and love on. Praise him!
Dancing has also become more and more part of my worship. I came from a church were NO ONE, NO WAY was going to dance through the aisles or in the back. So when I came here and saw such strong women in Christ doing it, I now love doing it and I feel SO close to God when I do, it feels like how peace, joy and love could just crush me! Dancing for my Creator seems like nothing compared to what he did for me. Besides, it helps me express my feelings and be a radiant daughter of the King of kings in a way that is unquenchable.
Well, there is your catch-up of the last few months. Oh! One more thing! I CAN'T FOR CHRISTMAS! I am already listening to holiday music. :D Prayers for me and my family out her in Spain are much appreciated!
Yaaay! You're posting again!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're enjoying your new school!
One thing school has exposed me too, like it did for you, IS how many people don't have God, and how they are lost and scared and hurting and it just makes me so SAD! But I think thats some Jesus is going to help me with too. I too love dancing and singing for God, but I haven't had a huge chance to dance lately. But it's great to hear from you, Karis! Love Izzie
