My Third Day of school

Monday, September 14, 2009
Today, nothing really happened. But this entry is still worth reading!!! Ok, well, today nothing much happened but getting confused and being told the school gossip. But, there were a few adventures of just not speaking Spanish. :( One time I was commented on how well I was speaking Spanish by the conocimiento, or cono. for short, teacher only because I was able to keep up with the class. I think cono. was the hardest. Cono. is science in Spanish, but I am not sure. All we did in cono. was sit there and write what the teacher said, it was very boring and I did not speak any Spanish and I had to write in it, NOT HELPFUL! I got moved into the English teacher's class. She is fluent in English but she has a weird accent. I mean she is really nice and you can't blame her for the accent. The students call her maestra or teacher but never by her her last name like we do in the states! It is different and weird, but true. If the teacher was a boy it would be maestro, but not teacher, it is only teacher because she is the English teacher and in English class you have to call her teacher, but some kids still call her maestra. Dose that make since! It is kind of confusing.

SCHOOL GOSSIP:
The girls I was playing with took me around and told the school gossip. To them this one girl, I don't know her name, but I am assuming it is MariĆ . Everyone here is named after the saint Mary but in Spanish it is MariĆ . The girls said that "Maria" does not smell too good. Which I do not understand because I took a whiff when I was around her and did not smell any thing. The girls did not want to even me to talk to her when she called me over, but I did anyways.
That is about it. I have no idea what to expect for tomorrow though!
