Who knows how many days I've been in school now...

My Apologies:
I am so incredibly sorry for not writing in a week!!! So much has happened and homework is NUTS!!! Every subject has so much copying and answering!!! Ok, to explain, for homework there is so much copying out of text books (that aren't really text books because they are paper back) more than there is answering questions! It is really weird!

Stories:

Well, one day during conocimiento, they asked everyone what they wanted to be. At first I didn't understand, well I did understand but, I didn't know the answer right then and there in Spanish. So I decided to look it up in a Spanish Dictionary. Then, after class, a boy asked me the same question, "what did I want to be when I grew up." I thought this was a good chance to prove that I was a tomboy. So I told him I wanted to be and actor or a futbol player(soccer player). Now, saying you want to be a futbol player in Spain is bigger than it sounds. It means that you watch it all the time, go to games and are on one of two sides, Barcelona or Madrid. I thought Barcelona was closer so I said, "Barcelona" but it turns out that it's further away and that all the boys in my class are for Madrid. The boy looked shocked because I said I wanted to be a futbol player and, in particular, that I was for Barcelona. He ran off to tell his friends what I had said and I heard him say "Barcelona" and then a bunch of booing. I didn't think anything of it until we go home and my Mommie explained what it meant to be a futbol player in Spain. I know means watching all the games, knowing all the players, and being good at futbol yourself, now.

Now I've watched the boys play futbol and none of them are very good so I wasn't worried about that, but I did have stuff to worry about with rumors. Me, the new girl, was known all over the school--anything that I did wrong would be spread around the school so fast like wildfire. But I don't mean just the phrase...I mean it.

The next day, I was saved. Nobody asked me to play futbol with them... until Thursday at P.E. when everybody had to play. At the end of the game, people were saying I was better than some of the boys which eventually turned into a small fistfight among the boys. I left because I didn't want to see anymore. You don't know how big futbol is in Spain until you experience it yourself!

  2. Eve-
I really do speak spanish! But compared to the people that have been speaking it all their life!! Once you have to listen to it, about 1,000 words per minute, you realize how little you speak!!!
    I love you!!!
    Love
